About Our Academy Program: Kindergarten-Fifth Grade
At Apple Tree Learning Centers, our Academy students participate in a wide variety of studies that include language arts, math, science, social studies, art, music, physical education, devotionals/chapel, and handwriting. We teach language arts using a sequential phonics program, “A Beka,” and math through hands-on manipulatives, instruction, and written work.
As Early Childhood Development Education professionals, we understand that Kindergarten through the First grade are extremely important in terms of development, and at Apple Tree Learning Center, we make the most of this time. As the family at Apple Tree has grown, we have expanded our grade offerings to include second through fifth grade. We believe that the success of a child is built on consistency and complete care for a safe and nurturing environment. This addition of grade levels allows our families the peace of mind knowing that their child will continue to receive the best in academics AND the ultimate security in an environment that they love.
We teach science from a Christian perspective. Students learn and explore the world around them. Kindergarteners learn and observe how seeds grow, as older students learn about the human body, with an emphasis on the sense organs and how they work. From plants to the world of animals, students become familiar with invertebrates and vertebrates and how to classify them. Some students “visit” the ocean while others create habitats for the animals of the rain forest.
In social studies, children develop a sense of patriotism as they learn about our country’s heritage, its great leaders, and key landmarks.
Prepare your child for the future with a quality, private Christian kindergarten through fifth grade* experience at Apple Tree.
